i see what you're saying, but the originality and "message" doesn't have to be oasis' just because the song is. just like lyrics mean different things to those who hear them. this is a very good version, and for what its worth as a direct comparison i like this one.

while i prefer the original, this is a great cover
its nice to see an artist doing a cover and actually doing something with the song instead of just replicating it
but still, i think the original is one of the all-time great songs so theres not much topping it :p

i quite like it - maybe thats because as a brit, we hear the original all too often.
at least hes done something original with it, and made it his own - unlike some truly shite cover artists who have imitated poorly.
