It is, but i prefer Shake Hands with the Devil...it gives a more powerful portrait of what really happened. Look for it on DVD. It's a canadian film, it's available at Movie Gallery last time i checked....

Sadly, America did not donate droops to UNAMIR during their mission. The main contingent of troops was Belgian (and considering how hated the Belgians were in Rwanda, its not exactly a huge mystery why they pulled out)
The Tutsi rebels weren't exactly great, either, seeing as they did their fair share of pillaging and murder. But at least they didn't single out every last Hutu and attempt to execute them

The West did send in troops to help but backed off as soon as one of their people got killed, assholes.
The Hutus hated the higher-class Tutsi minority for being favored and this caused a civil war,in which the Rwanda came under Hutu rule and Tutsis were exiled. The Tutsis then came back to Rwanda, and the president suspiciously died, sparking genocide.Naturally we decided to ignore it.
We wouldnt have had a hard time telling them apart, the slaughtered Tutsi from the slaughtering Hutu |
